Coronavirus- Keeping your Family safe

It's all anyone can talk about. I know there's a lot of misinformation out there and a lot of it contradicting one another.

People are hoarding toilet paper, the shelves in the cleaning supplies section of stores are empty, people are beating each other up for toilet paper. It's ridiculous!

A friend of mine posted a picture of Walmart and so many of shelves were empty.

I saw a comment about how in cases of emergency people act one of 2 ways:

  • 1 Complacent - I won't get the virus and even if I do, I'll be ok.
  • 2 Lose their minds and start hoarding .

Where is the middle ground? Common sense?

Here's what you can do to keep you and your family safe:

  • Wash your hands with warm water and soap for the length it takes you to sing of 2 rounds of "Happy Birthdays"
  • Use hand sanitizer if you aren't able to wash your hands
  • Don't touch your face or put your hands in your mouth
  • If you're sick, stay home
  • No travel outside of Canada. Self isolate for 14 days if you've traveled outside of Canada
  • Stay away from big crowds
  • Eat healthy foods
  • Exercise
  • Get enough sleep
  • If you suspect you have the Coronavirus, call 811 for more information
  • Don't panic

If you know of anyone in your community that needs extra support, like an elderly neighbour or a new Mama, please reach out and help them.

We need to focus on kindness instead of panicking and hoarding ❤️
